US CITIZENS ASK TO LEAVE BANJUL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE WHILES BRITISH GOVERNMENT ON STANDBY

BREAAKING NEWS!!! Gambia (US Embassy IN Banjul) United States diplomatic mission in Banjul has order American citizens to leave Banjul as soon as possible as political crisis deepen with no sight of compromise by Jammeh.

At a town hall meeting today at Ambassador's residence in Fajara, US officials warn about the future consequences of fragile political situation and said US Citizens should leave Banjul barely 13 days to Inauguration of President Elect Adama Barrow.
ECOWAS will lead a military intervention on 19 Jan if Jammeh refuses to go and hand over power to Barrow.

Meanwhile the British high commissioner in Banjul has issued a strong warning to all its citizens in The Gambia to stay on alert. According to the release, there’s a risk of possible unrest as the scheduled handover date of 18/19 January 2017 approaches; this could include Banjul International Airport being closed at short notice; you should follow events closely, keeping in regular contact with your tour operator and airline and continue to monitor travel advice and social media updates in the run-up to the handover in case tensions rise and the current deadlock isn’t resolved; avoid large crowds and avoid discussing politically sensitive topics in public.
